LSSI Research and Innovation Development Manager
As the Research and Innovation Development Manager for the Leeds Social Science Institute, I support the identification and development of new interdisciplinary research opportunities as well as manage large, strategic funding applications across the social sciences at the University of Leeds. Working with academics and researchers across the University, I develop opportunities for cross-faculty/school collaborations and interdisciplinary research. I also help with identifying and building relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
Before joining the LSSI at the University of Leeds I worked as Research Development Manager for the Social Sciences at the University of York (2012-2016), and Research Facilitator in the departments of Politics and Sociology at UoY (2010-2012), Centre Manager of the ESRC Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) at the University of Manchester (2004-2010) and Centre Administrator of the AHRC Centre for Cultural Analysis, Theory and History (CATH) at the University of Leeds. Through these roles I gained a lot of experience in high level research management and administration, including interdisciplinary project and bid development, budget management, developing external relations, and research event management.
What I enjoy most about my job is working closely with academics, finding out about their research ambitions and plans, and work out how can best help them to achieve these.
