Research and Innovation Service

The Pro Dean for Research and Innovation, Professor Stuart Lister, has overall responsibility for research and innovation, working with the School Directors of Research and Innovation and the Faculty Research and Innovation Service.

The Service comprises the Faculty Research and Innovation Office, four School-based Research and Innovation Administrators. The Faculty Research Development Manager provides support for research development, and addressing impact and engagement and equality, diversity and inclusion requirements.

The Faculty Research and Innovation Office is based in 18 Beech Grove Terrace.

The School Research and Innovation Administrators are:

They are available to provide help and support to staff either currently engaged in research and innovation projects or seeking to apply for funding for a project.

The Health and Safety Manager can advise on fieldwork guidance and risk assessment if required.

Dr Judith Hanks is the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee that covers FSS.

The Researcher Development and Research Culture Hub offers skills development opportunities to doctoral students and research staff working in the Social Sciences.

The University of Leeds has a dedicated central Research and Innovation Service (RIS) which works in partnership with Faculty-based Research and Innovation Offices to support academic members of staff who are seeking external funding and support for their research and innovation.

Central RIS also co-ordinates the University's REF submission and other returns, leads the implementation of new systems and procedures and co-ordinates strategic planning and policy in relation to research.
