Student Education Service
The Pro Dean for Student Education, Simon Lightfoot, has overall responsibility for learning and teaching and the student experience, working with the Graduate School, the school Directors of Student Education and the Faculty Education Service Manager.
The Faculty’s Education Service Manager, Michael Byde, coordinates the Student Education Service across the Faculty.
The School Education Service Managers are:
- Education: Susan Long
- Law: Rachael Taylor
- Politics and International Studies: Claire Ballantyne-Pluck
- Sociology and Social Policy: Debbie Westmoreland
They lead the school student education service and manage the student education offices.
Emma Nelson is the Student Support Manager and leads a team of school student support officers.
Susan Haines is the Admissions Manager and co-ordinates admissions activity across the Faculty.
The faculty's shared Blended Learning Support Team is based in Clothworkers' Building South and supports staff using the VLE. The team members are Chris Taylor and Damian McDonald.
Steve Gleadall is the Education Engagement Officer for the Social Sciences Cluster based in Educational Engagement. Steve works with Mette Wiggen and Pre Carbo in delivering education outreach and widening participation activities and events.
Learning and Teaching Support is a central university team which includes the SDDU’s Learning and Teaching team, the Library’s Skills@Library, Portal and VLE Service teams; and the Quality Assurance Team. It also manages Leeds for Life.
